One year ago, I logged onto the Google Hangout from my home office, still inadequately decorated for virtual keynotes. The person meeting with me had short, dark hair and glasses with thick black rims. I began with small talk, complimenting the lovely green flowers dotting the wall behind her. When the pleasantries were over, she dove in. "I'm just going to cut to the chase . . . "
Oh my goodness, one year! What a year of transition and experimentation! What have you discovered since last June? Do you feel any more stability in your direction?
Thank you Dana! I am so grateful that you've been here reading and supporting this new odd experiment the whole time :)
What a good question!! I truly have been trying to ponder what I have discovered since last June business-wise . . . the main thing creatively speaking is a (re)discovery of truth-telling via public writing, and also how relieved I feel not to be in the "expert" seat compared to previous projects.
But as for how I would fundamentally change my business or free time approach - not sure! I had a surge of speaking gigs this last month that led to a lot of relief, but I still can't quite see through the fog ahead 🤪 Just continuing to experiment, as I know we all are!
What a great quote to end on - wow!!
Isn't that a good one?? I can't take any credit — my friend Jay told me it's one of his guiding quotes/principles for writing :D
And what a year it’s been, and we’re all better for the generosity of your truth and vulnerability. ❤️
Thank you so much Nat, you're the best 🥹 Your comments and posts always make *me* feel less alone, so thank you for walking this path side-by-side!
