This is such a funny piece; and so glad you can write about these things so meaningfully, and wittily. I am experimenting with turning "but I just don't want to—right now" into "I can find joy, amusement, and value in starting—and doing it—right now." And, a tip from my highly organized mother: Set the timer! Do clothes or weed the garden full-on for 30 mins. Then have a cuppa. Then see if you want to set the timer for something else. It's interesting to see how much can be done in a half hour. I don't want to live via timed spurts, but it's an enlightening experiment!

I love your mom’s tip to set a timer, then reward the 30-minute sprint with “a cuppa.” Brings me right back to your light-filled kitchen, sitting and talking 🥰🙏❤️ So true: re how much can *actually* get done in these short efforts! I have to remind myself of that…even ten minutes will go a long way :) xoxo!!

Love these two posts, Jenny. And I do the same. Perhaps not with laundry but with other things, trusting there will be time for that later, and more often than not there is. I also have left clothes in a suitcase for a couple of weeks. You’re not alone. My excuse- I’m traveling in a few weeks again anyway. 😂

Thank you Kathy! Haha, that emerged as my (new) excuse too…but only as soon as the next trip happened to pop up 😆 I love the idea of trusting that there will be time later, and in many cases, renewed energy during that future window. It’s the wisdom in procrastination… to a point 😅
