Certainly I miss the podcasts, especially the solo ones most of all. It was comforting to hear Jenny’s voice and listen to her thoughts once a week. I learned so much about the real trials and tribulations of publishing when Jenny gave us an unprecedented view of the genesis of Free Time. Jenny, please know how much you mean to your subscribers.
I get it! Especially having the extra work involved with video. But I do miss your great talent at interviewing, and finding super-interesting people and topics. I wouldn't mind if you just did one a month! On any topic! Your voice alone is worth listening to. Perhaps put them on substack instead of one of your writing pieces. Of course, I do know how sweet it is to just have writing time, time to ponder, to come up with the music of language. Just you and the mystery of creativity and flow. I find the podcasts to be more purposeful for building a community of like-minded friends than for generating business, but that's me. Jenny, our early Penney and Jenny series of podcasts has introduced me to so many wonderful people, many who have become friends! I'm so grateful and glad we were able to do them "back in the day" when business-y pressures weren't as great. Love you and whatever you do!
What would it look like to be able to reach out and have those same conversation with folk without the pressure of it being a product, or feeling like they needed a return on their time investment?
